Dae Andre was born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 30, 1997. He later moved to Ottawa, Ontario, where he was mostly raised. He is of Haitian descent. He grew up listening to every single style of music including Heavy Metal, R&B and Pop but, soon discovered he had a passion for Rap Music. In 2009 (at the age of 12), Dae Andre wrote and produced his first song entitled “Youth” and then made two more songs entitled “Live.Love.Life” and “Simply Amazing”, which were Anti-Bullying songs to go against the physical abuse he had gone through. In his freshman year in 2012, at Gisele-Lalonde Highschool, he started using drugs and became part of a Street Gang. There, he became the drug dealer formely known as (Young Dope or Young D.O.P). Conversely, in his junior year of high school (2014), he started going to church and getting involved. Unfortunately, he distanced himself from his family and went back to drugs and became an addict to DXM (Dextromethorphan). In 2016, after being signed to B.O.D.B Entertainment ‘Young D.O.P’ had an overdose, during the overdose he yelled in his spirit “Oh God, Oh God, Please come and help me” as described in his first single ‘Crowns & Halos‘. After that day he was no longer ‘Dae the Drug Dealer’ but Dae Andre the rapper. On May 5, 2016, Dae Andre was an official Christian Hip Hop Artist and created his version of Trap music, which he calls tRap (Truth Rapping). Dae Andre now belongs to the rap group “Throne Seekers” of the Campus Rush Music Collective.

It’s time to be “Young on Fire”!

When I started this blog, I made it very clear to express that this platform was the start of my beginning. I’m 7 months into this journey and I can’t even believe what is has become and how I’ve gotten so much accomplished. I may not be where I want to be or aspire to be but you best be sure that I’m on my way and I’m sprinting towards it. Spoken Visions started off being a poetry only blog and has slowly made it’s way to passion features and completely faith-based material. This transition is a result of the intimate relationship I’ve built with God and the part I realize I play to drawing people to His kingdom. If you are a newcomer to this blog I would encourage you to navigate around my page to get a sense of where my heart is and why I do this but in brief I’m a girl who loves God, has a passion for poetry and creating and is destined to raise up a generation of youth who love God proudly, passionately and fiercely.

…This brings me to what this post is to be about, it’s time to be on fire for Christ! Last weekend from June 30 – July 3rd, I was at a conference that Campus Rush hosted called Young on Fire. It was an intense 4 day event in Ottawa full of worship, the holy ghost, motivation, revelation, tears, deliverance, anointing and FIRE! I have never been in an atmosphere so concentrated by a love for Jesus and His holy spirit. Leading up to this conference God has been stirring up a lot in me, leading me towards my calling, planting ideas and allowing me to create. I’ve personally had the fire come over me for about month now and I have no intention of letting it die out! I do however, have all intention of letting it spread wildly all across this nation!

The only way I can explain what being on fire for Christ means, looks like and the impact and difference it will make on our world is for me to express it in poetry! So I present a poem like blog post!

IYA Launch: Get Ready With Me

It’s February 29th 2016, the extra day of the year we get to take advantage of!  All around I’m hearing advice about not wasting the day and  I don’t intend to  do that at all. Today I am launching the very first series on my blog called Ignite Your Ambition and I’m releasing a poem called The Hour to begin! I think it’s a fitting title for a day like today.  To start the series off I’d like to take up some space to tell you all about how I got here and why I do what I do.

Why Ignite Your Ambition?                                                                                                                        This stemmed from a time in grade 11 when I  wanted to change my twitter name to something cooler. I loved Coldplay and because of that, I wanted to change my name to ignite your bones from the song Fix You, but that was already taken. I brainstormed for awhile and then evolved ignited ambition. Back then I always wanted to make something out of myself. I knew I had talents I could pursue, poetry being the most evident but, I had so many stalled ambitions because of my lack of will to pursue. “Ignited ambition” gave me hope to finally light the spark one day. This is where a lot of the messages in my poems come from, the idea of starting, pursuing purpose, doing what you love, not being held back, making a change and really walking into destined promises.  I want to lead by example, it’s easy for me to sit behind a screen and say all these things things but without walking on faith I won’t get anywhere and I won’t inspire anyone, without taking the leap first.
